Frequent Visitors is a weekly newsletter created to share the things we (over at Frequent Practice) have enjoyed visiting each week. Sometimes related to design, reads, and creativity. Sometimes related to anything else.
We visited one of our favourite (Neighbour)hood shops here in Vancouver to admire their new interior with custom shelves by Tom Chung.
Adi Goodrich created a pink papier-mâché set for a display inside The Webster, the concept store designed by David Adjaye.
After a recent visit to Massy Books, we picked up a copy of Caps Lock: How Capitalism Took Hold of Graphic Design, and How to Escape from It by Ruben Pater. Upon checkout, the bookseller noted that they are particularly interested in the second clause in the title, and we couldn’t agree more!!
We’ve been enjoying visiting Matt Lamont’s archive website Design Reviewed and perusing his collection of 3,000+ design books, journals, posters, stamps, and other printed ephemera (especially the type-only artefacts).
Tyrus is a free digital toolkit from Airbnb Design to help empower freelance illustrators to develop their business skills. The beautifully designed toolkit by Porto Rocha offers various guides, examples, and templates, enabling freelancers to transform their practice and spend more time on what they love.
HAIM’s latest single “Lost Track” has been a (very) frequent listen in the studio. They wrote, recorded, and shot the whole music video (directed by Paul Thomas Anderson) in just a few days!!
That’s it for this week! Thank you for reading and we hope you enjoyed your visit :) We love having visitors as much as we love being them, so it would mean the world if you shared this newsletter with someone you think might enjoy it! As always, we’d love to hear your thoughts + learn about some of your favourite finds by reading your replies to this email!!
