No. 17
Severance, embroidered books, rare books, and a cosmic web.
Frequent Visitors is a weekly newsletter created to share the things we (over at Frequent Practice) have enjoyed visiting each week. Sometimes related to design, reads, and creativity. Sometimes related to anything else.
⑴ Designer and embroiderer extraordinaire Alex Stikeleather recently designed the cover for Alyssa Hardy’s new book, Worn Out. Alex dyed the fabric, hand embroidered the type, and then meticulously destroyed it for the cover.
⑵ Ben Stiller’s Severance on apple tv+ is a mysterious masterpiece with some of the most striking cinematography by DOP Jessica Lee Gagné (never have I ever been so mesmerized by an intercom).
⑶ Really into the work (and these mugs!) from estudio prado, the multidisciplinary design studio based in Santiago and Toronto.
⑷ Half of FP recently visited Tomás Saraceno’s breathtaking and immersive work at The Shed.

⑸ The other half of FP was visiting the current exhibit at the CCA in Montreal, A Section of Now. Through TV series (including Grace and Frankie!!), contemporary photography, architectural research, and designed objects, A Section of Now looks at expanding notions of family, property ownership, activism, work, technology, and life expectations.
⑹ One of our favourite publishers, Lars Müller, just launched Flat & Bound, a collection of rare posters and books on design, architecture, and various art topics (bad day for the bank account, great day for the bookshelf).
That’s it for this week! Thank you for reading and we hope you enjoyed your visit :) We love having visitors as much as we love being them, so it would mean the world if you shared this newsletter with someone you think might enjoy it! As always, we’d love to hear your thoughts + learn about some of your favourite finds by reading your replies to this email!!
Chag Sameach and Happy Easter! 🌷
