Discover more from Frequent Visitors
Frequent Visitors is a weekly newsletter created to share the things we (over at Frequent Practice) have enjoyed visiting each week. Sometimes related to design, reads, and creativity. Sometimes related to anything else.
This Week’s Visits:
⑴ The Gagosian art gallery’s new imprint, Picture Books, dedicated to publishing fiction by leading authors paired with works by contemporary artists. To top it off the creative director of The Atlantic—and designer + author extraordinaire—Peter Mendelsund will be designing the books (a detail we are particularity excited by).
⑵ The New Exhibition is a newly launched directory of incredible Ukrainian designers, illustrators, animators, and creators.
⑶ The Berlin based architectural practice KUEHN MALVEZZI recently completed their work for the Montréal Insectarium!
Opening at a crucial moment for rethinking relationships between human and non-human biology, the new Montréal Insectarium represents a critical new approach for museums of natural history.
⑷ Harvard Design Magazine 49: Publics questions how public spaces—the physical, the cultural, and the theoretical—operate in a fragmented social and political environment, both in the US and abroad. We are particularly fond of the interview between Walter Hood (dream) and Sara Zewde (dream part 2).
⑸ Current stationary crush
⑹ A little tune to dance around to this weekend and a gorgeous video of Florence Welch + Bill Nighy running around with coffee in hand (1:33) directed by Autumn de Wilde. Filmed in Ukraine in 2021 with Ukrainian filmmakers and artists. 🌻 (Thank you for the share A.B. ✨)
That’s it for this week! Thank you for reading and we hope you enjoyed your visit :) We love having visitors as much as we love being them, so it would mean the world if you shared this newsletter with someone you think might enjoy it!
As always, we’d love to hear your thoughts + learn about some of your favourite finds by reading + responding to your replies to this email!!
