Tattoos, getting into bed, graffiti, martinis + Madeline, and a visit to 'The Garden at the Purple House'.
Frequent Visitors is a weekly newsletter created to share the things we (over at Frequent Practice) have enjoyed visiting each week. Sometimes related to design, reads, and creativity. Sometimes related to anything else.
This Week’s Visits:
⑴ The work of LANZA Atelier, the architecture studio based in Mexico City + Madrid (in particular their brilliant folding chair). FUN FACT: in addition to being award winning architects, the founders Isabel and Alessandro tattoo on the side—putting their hand drawing skills to excellent use.
⑵ Had the absolute pleasure of visiting Scott Sueme’s exhibition ‘The Garden at the Purple House’ at Gallery Jones; a gorgeous collection and wonderful visit. (Thanks A.P for the invitation 🟪🟧🟪🟧)
⑶ “Let’s be honest, everyone just wants to get into bed, so it’s a bit of a take on that.”—Willo Perron describing his inspiration behind his dreamy custom furniture. We’re especially dreaming of this! sofa!!
⑷ The work of (hugely underrated) Australian photographer Rennie Ellis and his “WORLD CLASS” book, Decade 1970–1980. I’ve been getting lost in their online collections (especially fond of Graffiti).
⑸ On the To Visit list: Bemelmans Bar on the Upper East Side for many reasons (Martinis + Madeline), with the foremost being Earl Rose. Until then you’ll find me re-reading this profile on the Manhattan Piano Player.
⑹ This stunning short film on Korean designer Minjae Kim by apartamento is an absolute treat for the eyes. Even taking a quick skim through the footage is a masterpiece (but do watch it, Minjae is such a delight).
That’s it for this week! Thank you for reading and we hope you enjoyed your visit :) We love having visitors as much as we love being them, so it would mean the world if you shared this newsletter with someone you think might enjoy it!
As always, we’d love to hear your thoughts + learn about some of your favourite finds by reading + responding to all of your replies to this email! Until then, we hope you enjoy some lovely visits this weekend!
