The Ideal City 2040, a breath of fresh air in an old tin, an IRRESISTIBLE CANDLE, and a dash of opulence and glamour.
Frequent Visitors is our little newsletter created to share the things we (over at Frequent Practice) have enjoyed visiting each week. Sometimes related to design, reads, and creativity. Sometimes related to the wonders in between.
The Ideal City 2040 project by SPACE10 in collaboration with The Office for Design and Innovation has been on our minds.
‘Cities are at the heart of the problem, but that also means they are at the heart of the solution. If we put our knowledge into action, we have an opportunity to make our cities into places that work better for more people — and for our planet.’ —Simon Caspersen
The one and only Adi Goodrich has launched her own furniture line that she designed and prototyped—Sing Thing. Her first collection, Objects to Live With, launches today!!
Altoids mints have been making some guest appearances this past week which has prompted us to read up on the Breath of Fresh Air in an Old Tin and ponder ways to reuse the famed tins in addition to the suggestions found at the bottom of the article.
During a recent visit to one of our favourite neighbourhood spots, we finally caved and picked up one of the exquisite candles by Perfumer H. Lyn Harris is dedicated to creating beautiful, unconventional fragrances and I would personally like to collect them all. We have been burning Ink non-stop and are already dreading the moment it runs out.
Speaking of, our friends at Neighbour are undergoing a beautiful rebrand beginning with a gorgeous new websitedesigned by London based Atelier Dyakova ft. the best illustrations by Hatty Staniforth.
René Hubert. The Man Who Dressed Film Stars and Airplanes tells the story of the exceptionally versatile designer who belonged to the crème de la crème of costume designers between the 1920s–1960s. Additionally, his staff uniforms and cabin interior for the Swiss national airline Swissair achieved cult status. A man of opulence and glamour.
That’s a wrap! Thank you for reading and we hope you enjoyed your visit :) We love having visitors as much as we love being them, so it would mean the world if you shared this newsletter with someone you think might enjoy it!
As always, we’d love to hear your thoughts (on an ideal city, this newsletter, your preferred use for an empty Altoids tin, etc.) + learn about some of your favourite finds by reading + responding to all of your replies to this email!
xx
