Frequent Visitors is a weekly newsletter created to share the things we (over at Frequent Practice) have enjoyed visiting each week. Sometimes related to design, reads, and creativity. Sometimes related to anything else.
This Week’s Visits
The Amsterdam based photography duo Sarah van Rij and David van der Leeuw released their most recent project, a love letter to New York. It has provided us with a perfect little escape into beautiful street photography (along with Sarah’s Flâneur series).
Speaking of an escape, we’ve been enjoying visiting Window Swap and opening a window to somewhere else in the world.
Getting lost in this archive of Uruguayan graphic design featuring editorials, bus tickets, and everything in between.
Keeping things illuminated with Tom Chung’s smart lamp, Piton.
Tyler Mitchell collaborated with Green River Projects LLC to design The Grand Sofa—an intricately designed sofa upholstered in printed fabric showcasing portraits of Tyler’s beloved family members. The piece was a part of his recent exhibition at the Gordon Parks Foundation, An Imaginative Arrangement of the Things Before Me.
Our friends at Undecorated and Prince Concepts in Detroit have won best home in the Dwell prefabs category for the Caterpillar; a brilliant project that has transformed a Quonset hut into six affordable apartments and two live/work spaces in the city.
Lux is a socialist feminist magazine that takes its name from Rosa Luxemburg and believes in abundance for all. Both the project and the design by Chloe Scheffe turn the traditional women’s consumer magazine upside down.
That is all for this week! Thank you for reading and we hope you enjoyed your visit :) We love having visitors as much as we love being them, so it would mean the world if you shared this newsletter with someone you think might enjoy it! As always, we’d love to hear your thoughts + learn about some of your favourite finds by reading your replies to this email.
