THIS WEEK’S VISITS
“Brazenly blending the old with the new.”
Elizabeth Goodspeed (who we greatly admire) worked with Michael Diaz-Griffith on the design of The New Antiquarians: At Home with Young Collectors. The new book features 17 exceptional interiors by young collectors (from Bode to Tiwa Select) who are brazenly blending the old with the new. We can’t wait to see all the ephemeral goodies packed within its pages!!
Under lock and key
Speaking of Bode, Emily is launching the highly anticipated Bode Women’s line, The Crane Estate, at her upcoming Paris show and this tweet succinctly summarizes my starstruck feelings around it.
Nothing puzzling about this.
The Klein A45 tiny cabin designed by Bjarke Ingels and Soren Rose is the perfect case study of what it means to boil down a design to the essentials without compromising on quality. We adore everything from the fixtures to the finishes but simply can’t get over the STAIRCASE! (I implore you to view the post—specifically for the video 🧩)
Right?! Isn’t that sliding mechanism incredible! Perhaps a little reminiscent of a certain children’s puzzle.
“The moment of discovering something new is magical.”
We’ve been revisiting this Tyler the Creator interview where he shares his prized collections and keep thinking about his relationship with music:
“What I’m scared of is the music that I won’t get to hear after I’m gone…Like, dude, isn’t it crazy? One of your favorite songs of all time, you haven’t heard yet?”
If you need me, I will be over here daydreaming about Sarah Espeute’s hand-embroidered work—in particular, this sneak peek into bedding!!
Thank you for reading and we hope you enjoyed your visit :) As always, I’d love to hear your thoughts (on antiques, Bode, puzzles, Meryl Streep’s potential guest spot on ‘Only Murders in the Building’?!?! etc.) and learn about some of your favourite visits by reading + responding to all of your replies to this email!
Until next time,
