HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY!!!

Spending time learning about women’s stories and marvelling at the things they create will forever be my favourite pastime.
Building on last year’s roundup, I’d love to share a few more of the remarkable women on my mind these days:
Perrin Drumm. Writer, editor, head of publishing at A24, and gourmet bathing enthusiast.
Leigh Patterson. The brilliant creator of Moonlists, a guided journal for the non-journaler (yours truly), and founder of the research-based creative studio Lucca.
Elana Schlenker. A Dreamy designer working with the best of the best on projects ranging from a Hyper-local Guide to the Flora, Fauna, and Fantasy of the Most Far-out State in America to the design of the Cornell Journal of Architecture website.
Noemie Le Coz. Co founder of Little Troop, the design studio behind the Best Puzzle Design and identity for Dakota Johnson’s independent production company.
Na Kim. The illustrator and art director behind some of the most exquisite book covers (including one of my favourite books as of late). Here is one of her lovely interviews I find myself returning to.
Rachel Willey. A Senior designer at the NYT Magazine creating striking work that never ceases to fully capture my attention (even in the presence of Ms. Blanchett as the cover star).
Speaking of Cate: I interrupt this programming to bring you:
Patricia Urquiola. The masterful product designer and architect creating links between craftsmanship and industrial research.
Arianna Lelli Mami and Chiara Di Pinto. Founders of Studiopepe, a design + architecture agency based in Milan creating a world I would like to immerse myself in (exhibit a: their pop-up store for Hermès below).
Cecilie Manz. Through her work within furniture, glass, lighting, and ceramics, Cecilie has received international acclaim and we’re personally quite fond of her work with Muuto.
Madeleine Schwartz. Journalist and Editor-in-Chief of The Dial, a new online magazine of culture, politics, and ideas with a focus on locally sourced writing from around the world.
A conversation with three women—a doctor, former senator, and activist—who led the fight to abolish Argentina’s restrictive reproductive rights laws.
A convo between Nobel Prize-winning author Annie Ernaux and filmmaker Céline Sciamma.
Talia Cotton. Her new creative agency is combing first-rate design expertise with focused technology to pioneer the possibilities of design and I simply can’t get enough!!
Chloe Scheffe and Natalie Shields. These two absolute designer dreamboats joined forces to become Scheffe Schields, an award-winning independent design practice focused on printed matter and typography. Truly a match made in heaven.
Carla Simón. A beloved friend of FV shared their recent discovery of the Spanish film director and screenwriter and as a natural result, Carla’s autobiographical film has immediately skyrocketed to the top of my to watch list.
Verena Michelitsch and Kristina Bartošová. The creative masterminds behind our favourite magazine to Touch.
Crystal Zapata. Whether a basketball course or gala invitation, Crystal’s work always leaves me in a state of awe.
Vivian Dehning. Dazzling designer with an endlessly clever body of work centred around journalism, culture and the arts.
Thinking of Nan Goldin and her film All the Beauty and the Bloodshed today + every day.
Miwa Susuda of Dashwood Books, a haven filled with spontaneity and the unexpected on every shelf. “I try to connect with people and show them something they’d never before considered, something they might not have found otherwise, something that broadens their minds.” And she never fails to do so. Miwa, you’re my favourite Dashwood friend forever 💌
I hope you enjoyed this issue and encountered one small thing that sparked your interest. It would also mean the world if you shared this with someone you think may enjoy it 💌
As always, thank you for reading and I can’t wait to share more women in future issues that I forgot to include this week. You truly are the best visitors in the whole wide world.
