No. 52
For the love of friends!!! Books about books, books about movies, a transcendent album, and fuel for cabin dreams.
Frequent Visitors is a weekly (don’t ask me to define weekly) newsletter created to share a thoughtful selection of favourite visits—both online and off—curated by friends, not algorithms.

Nothing says ‘I love screen time’ like print
The inaugural issue of The Metrograph is out and I couldn’t possibly be more excited to get my hands on this new biannual magazine from the NY cinema.

And also this ‘visual distillate of Fassbinder’s art’.
Falling down London’s underground literary press rabbit hole
Richard Porter’s solo run artist’s imprint, Pilot Press, is promoting queer artists and writers with works that are described as “electrifying, blistering, and razor tight”. RAZOR TIGHT!!! Montez Press is publishing experimental work by artists, writers and thinkers, and Worms is bringing experimental writers to the literary top-soil.

A COUPLE OF TALENTED FRIENDS OF FV!!
During my first week as an intern, I attended the studio's launch party for their latest publication. Despite being ever so lost as the new kid in town (in my little linen jumpsuit and freshly cut bangs), I somehow managed to befriend two strikingly brilliant and thoughtful designers who haven’t stopped inspiring me since (and I hope they inspire you too!!)
Viv is an independent designer creating magazines, collages, and typefaces
that make me drool!!
Between her work as an independent designer, stylist & art director and her beautiful ceramic creations, I’m never not crushing on Sasha’s work.
Music that inspires by the poet of attenuation
12 pieces for pipe organ, choir, and brass quintet. A gorgeous album (once described as “cathedral bathing”) is keeping me company on these last few snowy January days.
Composed by the inimitable Kali Malone, who recently played and tuned a Garnier organ for the opening of Lemaire’s house in Ebisu!!!
Kids, dreams really do come true. We visited Roscoe in the summer and as I haven’t shared this news with you yet NOW IS THE TIME!! The Roscoe Motel is ‘a modest and clean fly fishing motel’. It is also a place where mud boys and strangers can drink scotch and make deli sandwiches til the sun comes up.
Our reviews (and notable quotes are in):
“Devastatingly everything you want in a motel in a place called Trout Town USA”
“A desperately considerate motel”
“The untouched decor is fuel for cabin dreamers, with a book collection that welcomes the wary bunker”
“MEND! MEND! FOLLOW IT!” —Words hollered by our flyfishing instructor (58, retired math teacher) that continue to echo in our minds
“I saw you struggling to carry some firewood over earlier and thought we could help”—sweet angel strangers at the motel
Thank you for reading + I hope you enjoyed your visit!
